Can we talk about OffTheGrid for a second?

Everything from the reptiles in the government to the suspiciously expensive pizza restaurant with subpar food that's been open for 80 years.

Can we talk about OffTheGrid for a second?

Post by SecondHandWarning »

Not calling anyone out, not trying to start a witch hunt, but…

Does anyone else ever wonder how OffTheGrid knows so much about the rest of us?

And I don’t mean the usual “old hunter with good instincts” thing. I mean the stuff he shouldn’t be able to guess.

Example: I never told anyone here what state I was in. Never mentioned it. First PM he ever sent me started with, “You’re east of the mountains, right?”

Another time he told someone their EMF issue wasn’t “the house” but “the land.” They hadn’t posted photos, locations, nothing. And he was right.

Then there’s the way he pops into threads right when someone’s about to make a dangerous mistake. Like he’s watching all the time.

So the question is:

How does he know?

My theories so far (take your pick):

1) He’s got access to databases hunters shouldn’t have. Government-level stuff.
2) He has a private network sniffing traffic from this site. (Would explain the timing.)
3) He’s got eyes in places all over the country — informants, scanners, maybe even tapped radio lines.
4) He’s just been doing this so long he can reverse-engineer your entire life from a typo.
5) Or — and I mean no offense here — he’s not working alone.

Because none of this feels like one guy behind a keyboard.

Anyone else notice this? Or am I the only one who’s starting to think the dude has a surveillance grid stitched together out of spare parts and caffeine?

Settle down, junior.

First thing: I don’t have “resources.” I have eyes, ears, and a lifetime spent watching people say more than they mean to. Hunters especially.

You think you’re careful, but you slip. Everybody does.
– You mention a type of tree that only grows on one side of a state.
– You post at the same hour every night.
– You complain about weather only five counties are getting.
– Your phone autocorrects a word in a way that tells me what model you’re using.

Little things. Breadcrumbs.
Folks like me just know how to follow the trail.

Second: If I show up when someone’s about to do something stupid, it’s because this place is full of folks who think salt and a shotgun solve everything. I’m doing triage.

Third: I don’t “watch everyone all the time.”
If I did, half of you wouldn’t still have your eyebrows.

Fourth: There’s no grand conspiracy here. No black helicopters. No tapped lines. If I’m right about something, it’s because there are only so many ways a hunter can screw up before they become predictable.

And lastly —
If you’re worried about how much I know, take it as a compliment.
Means you’re worth paying attention to.

Now stop gossiping and get back to prepping your gear. The thing you should be scared of isn’t me.

It’s the stuff I’m trying to keep you alive long enough to avoid.
