Something isn't right with my mom

Everything from the reptiles in the government to the suspiciously expensive pizza restaurant with subpar food that's been open for 80 years.

Something isn't right with my mom

Post by Unknown-User »

I don’t usually post, I mostly lurk, but I don’t have anyone else I can ask this without sounding insane.

A few years ago I was in an accident. I don’t remember it — or anything before it. Doctors say that happens. My mom says the same thing, but she says it too quickly, like she’s answering before I even finish the question.

Every time I try to ask about my life before, she shuts it down. “It’s not good for your recovery.” “You don’t need to worry about that.” “Just focus on the present.”

And then we move.

Over and over.

I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve packed up in the middle of the night “because your health is better in cleaner air.”

But here’s the weird thing — and I only put this together recently:
When we move into a neighborhood, the yards, the parks, everything looks normal. Green. Healthy.

When we leave?
The plants always look… worse. Drooping. Faded. Sometimes yellowing, like they’re drying out even when it’s been raining. I used to think it was just my imagination or bad timing. But it keeps happening.

I’m not allowed to go outside alone. I’m “immunocompromised” because of the accident, she says. Some kind of rare immune disease I got “from the trauma.” She won’t tell me the name of it. Won’t let me talk to the doctors directly except during scheduled calls — and she sits next to me the whole time.

I’m not saying she’s hurting me. She’s taken care of me. She cooks for me. She monitors my meds. But the more I look back, the more it feels like she’s hiding something massive.

I don’t know if she’s trying to protect me… or protect other people from me.

Has anyone ever heard of plants dying around a house because of medical chemicals? Or constant relocations for “health reasons”? Or a parent refusing to discuss your past like it’s classified?

Any theories welcome. I just need to know if I’m imagining all this.
