Driving home on a county road tonight, no traffic, no moon.
Around mile marker 12, I hear something hitting the gravel shoulder — fast.
Checked the mirror: nothing.
Rolled the window down and it became real clear, real quick that something was running next to me, just out of the headlights.
I hit 40.
It hit 40.
Never saw eyeshine, never saw a shape. Just footsteps keeping perfect pace, then peeling off into the woods like it was bored.
Anyone else had a “parallel runner” encounter?
